Idol Hopefuls At Best with SHURE UHF-R® Wireless
Shure UHF-R and Beta 87 support Idol Competition
Singapore. November 1, 2006. Shure performed flawlessly at the Singapore Idol competition's grand finals on September (date 2006) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The event was broadcasted live and televised across the nation shone with newly crowned Singapore Idol singer, Hady, as the rising star beat Jonathan’s good looks and charm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The chosen UHF-R® microphone system was a winning choice for the competition’s Technical team and saw the Idol hopefuls through every episode of the highly-watched television series.
One of Shure’s latest microphone systems, the UHF-R® is patented with Shure’s Audio Reference Companding feature which promises sound quality at all audio levels. Since it was available, MediaCorp Studios has been using the system.
Every singer was paired with a Beta 87 microphone which delivered crisp, clear sound that fended off the “boomy” effects of properties nearby. The Beta 87s were used outside of competition for rehearsals and studio recording, and worked effectively at both shows at the stadium due to their high sound pressure capability. Hosts, Gurmit Singh and Daniel Ong, also held the shows together with Beta 87 microphones.
Said MediaCorp Studio’s Soundman, Sunny Lo, “I've long heard of Shure’s new UHF-R in the microphones industry and was glad to have the chance to use them. For one thing, I really like that I can hear the softest lows; they are very articulate and clear. Every note comes off alive. The system was easy to configure and everything works out smoothly with the Beta87A.,”
The UHF-R® microphone system can handle high pressure and extreme conditions of any major event in any rugged environment. Coupled together with advanced technology and engineering, it provides uncompromising audio quality with flexibility to control up to 108 systems.
Singapore Idol 2006 provides the nation not only her winning vocal choice, but winning Shure sound in one of the biggest television competitions of the year.
